One of my favorite places to watch web shows is Take180. Take180 is a Disney-owned website that creates web shows geared towards viewers under 18, all with episodes 180 seconds or less. They often use the input of the audience to write characters, solutions, and conflicts for the next episode, which, due to the creativity of the people watching, turns out pretty well in the end. One of their most viewed shows, I <3 Vampires, started out parodying the fans of the Twilight series, and has grown into an incredibly popular show, now in it's second season, and with accompanying "Confessions of a High School Vampire" books online. For more information, visit http://www.take180.com/

Though mostly comedy, some webshows, such as Anyone But Me, are more serious, and film episodes like a regular TV show (spread out over a longer period of time, as opposed to I <3 Vampires, which films as if over a period of a 3 or so days). Anyone But Me centers on the life of a girl and her friends as they deal with common, but complex issues faced in high school. To watch this awesome show(also in it's second season), visit http://www.anyonebutmeseries.com/

I haven't watched a ridiculous amount of web shows of web shows yet to get a decent opinion, but the ones I have watched, I love. There's pretty much a web show about everything, so Google stuff, and you'll probably find something that you like =)
It's kind of ironic that Disney would make fun of Twilight fans, when all the crap they make nowadays is just as bad or sometimes worse than Twilight. It's like they're making fun of their own fans.
ReplyDeleteBut anyway, I've always hated watching t.v. on the internet. I don't know why, it's just always bothered me.
I do not like vampires. I think twilight is over rated. I would much rather watch tv or a movie than some girl sucking on a guy. And when I say sucking I mean from the neck.
ReplyDeleteI have never even heard of web shows. I know they put regular t.v. shows on the Internet, but I didn't know there were shows made directly for the web. It's knid of an interesting concept, but I have to agree with Mandy that it's just kind of wrong. T.v. isn't supposed to be on a computer, it's supposed to be on a t.v.
ReplyDeleteThe only web show I have heard of is the one they preview for "Heroes," and it did not look like it was well put together. I do find the concept of web shows interesting. I did not realize they would be so much shorter than the average television show. Good Post!
